ST. LOUIS -- Coe improved to 12-2 Saturday with a pair of wins at the Washington University at St. Louis Tournament as the 19th-ranked Kohawks beat Augustana (Ill.) 8-2 in the opener and host Washington U. 4-0 in the nightcap.

In the win against Augustana, the Kohawks were fueled by a three-run home run by senior C.C. Williams. Sophomore Callie Morningstar added a pair of RBI, as she extended her hitting streak to 13 games. Junior Ashlee Simon earned the win, striking out 13 and giving up just five hits.

The nightcap was scoreless until a two-out rally for the Kohawks in the fourth inning. Abby Flannagan singled down the left field line to start the inning. A double by Brandi Haight scored Flannagan for the first run. A second double of the inning, this one by senior Shannon Aguero plated Haight. Williams reached on an error, allowing Aguero to score. Coe's third double of the inning came from Maggie Wettstein, as she plated Williams.

Flannagan was the only Kohawk with multiple hits in the win. Freshman Maddison Woodruff improved to 5-2 in the circle, as she went the distance. She struck out two, while giving up just four hits.
