BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – No. 25 C.W. Post advanced to the NCAA East Super Regional after topping Caldwell, 4-0, in the final game of the regional Sunday afternoon at the Softball Complex.

C.W. Post, who advances to become one of 16 remaining teams in Division II for the first time since 2008, improves to 39-14 overall.  Caldwell ends its season with a 32-25 record.

Each team held each other scoreless through four innings until the top of the fifth when junior centerfielder Kerry Fisher came through for the third consecutive game with the first RBIs by driving the ball to deep right center for a two-run double.

The Pioneers added to their lead in the top half of the seventh courtesy of a two-run bomb to left field from junior second baseman Kendall Bright.  Both Bright and Fisher led the team in RBIs, with four each in the regional.

Senior Christina Berardi pitched another gem as she scattered two hits over seven innings with no walks and five strikeouts.

Sophomore first baseman Kaci Hopkins led the Pioneers with two hits and two runs scored in the game.

Kourtney Wilson took the loss for the Cougars after giving up four runs on 10 hits and two walks while striking out six batters.
