Sophomore Christina D'Arpa (Staten Island, NY/Moore Catholic) went 2-for-3 with two RBI and tossed a six-hitter as the Dolphins (24-15-1) recorded their first NCAA playoff victory by overcoming the Valiants (30-11), 3-2, and advance into a loser's bracket game against Ursinus (36-9) on Saturday at 1 p.m.

The Dolphins trailed 2-0 entering the third before tying the game on a two-run single by D'Arpa. They went ahead in the fifth when D'Arpa singled and scored on a three-base infield error. In the pitcher's circle, D'Arpa scattered six hits while walking three and fanning four as her record improved to 13-2.

Sophomore shortstop Casey Killard (East Meadow, NY) roped an RBI double in the first and sophomore right fielder Sarah Kinsley (Pearl River, NY) poked an RBI single to account for Manhattanville's runs. Sophomore righty Margaret Thomas (Malvern, PA) dropped to 27-5 after squandering seven hits and two earned runs.
