WAYNE, N.J. -- Freshman righty Diana Schraer (Paramus, NJ/Paramus) spun a four-hit shutout for her 11th consecutive victory as William Paterson (35-9-1) advanced to the winner's bracket Saturday against top-seeded Rutgers-Camden, the team it defeated for the New Jersey Athletic Conference championship on May 7. Schraer (16-1) allowed one walk and struck out one to notch her eighth shutout of 2005 to snap the Valiants' (30-10) nine-game victory run.

Wiliam Paterson scored twice in the second when junior third baseman Nicky Arias (Princeton Junction, NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro South), who went 2-for-3, came across on a passed ball and senior left fielder Kelly Harchetts (Clarksburg, NJ/Allentown) singled home freshman pinch-runner Kendra Goss (Edison, NJ/J.P. Stevens). Sophomore second baseman April Sardinas-Wyssling (Plainsboro, NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro South) singled home an insurance run in the seventh for the Pioneers.

Sophomore right-hander Margaret Thomas (Malvern, PA) fell to 27-4 after allowing seven hits and one earned run while walking one and fanning two.
