ALABAMA HEAD COACH PATRICK MURPHY
General comment:
We just want to say thank you to everybody thats been working on this championship for probably 365 days. It seems to get bigger and bigger every year, and on behalf of Alabama, I wanted to thank everyone involved, the committee, the Oklahoma City (All Sports Association) and anybody that has been working on it for an entire year. Its so much fun when we get here and we look forward to it every year.

On learning from previous trips to the WCWS:
It goes by really fast. Were trying to teach the new kids and our seniors have really been preaching to them all week to take advantage of every opportunity, to play in the moment and that it goes by before you know it. We are going to try and last a little longer this year, but I think a big part of it is dont get caught up in the 9,000 people. We talked about it the other day that (the pitching distance is) still 43 feet and home plate is the same. We talked about (the movie) Hoosiers. Were just going to play hard and try not to get lost in all the excitement.

ALABAMA SENIOR STEPHANIE VANBRAKLE
On learning from previous trips to the WCWS:
I think its really about keeping your composure since this is such an exciting environment. Its great to be back here my third time. The first time it was all exciting and new, but this time it is all about composure and keeping it. The seniors need to reinforce that with the underclassmen. Since this is their first time, they need to be really composed. They have done that all year and I am expecting the same here.

NORTHWESTERN HEAD COACH KATE DROHAN
General comment:
This is our first trip here and so far it has been a fantastic experience. Thanks to everybody involved in it and to Oklahoma City. Were excited to be here.

On coming to the WCWS for the first time:
I addressed that same question at practice on Monday and I was quickly interrupted by one of our seniors who said, You know, this is going to be a great experience but we are here to win games. So basically we are going to take it one game at a time and just try to stick to our routine as we have done all year.

NORTHWESTERN SENIOR COURTNAY FOSTER
On dealing with the excitement of being at the WCWS:
We are just going to play our game and stay loose. I think our team is close enough and we are comfortable enough with each other that we keep each other relaxed and loose.
