ABILENE, Texas - Bailey Mathes, on her first homerun of the season, lifted No. 8 Southeastern past host Abilene Christian, 3-0, in eight innings in the final game of CBS Insurance Classic on Saturday at Wells Field.

Scoreless through seven innings, Southeastern's Morgan Miller was placed on second with the international tie-breaker rule in effect, before Benita Sanchez reached on a fielder's choice. Miller and Sanchez advanced on sac bunt from Kristi Goins, before Erica Bernal popped up to second.

And, Mathes, on a 1-1 count and her only hit of the game, hit a three-run bomb to centerfield to score Miller and Sancez.

Southeastern scored runs in the first and second innings, before the RiverHawks (0-9) got on board in the top of the third with homer to right field by Megan Heskett, who was 1-for-3.

Jennifer Morales' RBI-single to center scored Mathes, who reached on an error by the third baseman, in the third.

The Savage Storm continued their run streak in the fourth when Jaclyn Mullaney led off with a walk, and Goins' RBI-single to center scored Cassie Tice, who pinch ran for Mullaney.

Sanchez' RBI-double to left, her fifth of the season, scored Laney Anderson, who led off the sixth with a single to center.

Sanchez, Goins and Mathes were 2-for-3 to lead Southeastern at the plate.
