Emory collects 10th consecutive win
Thomas goes 2-for-2, drives in three runs for top-ranked Eagles
No. 4 Emory captured its 10th consecutive win on Sunday, defeating No. 18 Ithaca College at the National Training Center in Orlando, Fla.
The Eagles upped their record to 16-1 following a 6-3 decision against the Bombers that was called after six innings because of rain.
Senior pitcher Bridget Holloway earned the win for the Eagles, battling through a couple of rain delays and tossing all six innings, allowing six hits while striking out eight. Holloway now posts a 9-1 won-lost mark in the circle this season.
Emory finished the game with six hits, two apiece from senior Jessica Thomas and sophomore Claire Bailey. Thomas went 2-for-2 at the plate and knocked in three runs while Bailey ended the contest with a 2-for-4 effort that included a triple.
