North Georgia takes over top spot
Saints go 8-2 on week to earn No. 1 ranking, UAH falls to No. 5
DAHLONEGA, Ga. – North Georgia jumped to No. 1 in the country in the latest NFCA Division II poll released on Wednesday.
After going 8-2 last week, the Saints (27-5) leapfrogged previous No. 1 Alabama-Huntsville after sweeping the Chargers on the weekend.

The Saints received 14 of 16 first place votes this week to top the poll for the first time since May 12, 2010. Angelo State checked in at No. 2 and received the remaining two first-place votes.
Valdosta State moved up a spot to third, while Cal State Monterey bay jumped two spots to fourth. Alabama-Huntsville rounded out this week's top five.
North Georgia started the week with doubleheader sweeps of Bellarmine and West Georgia. The Saints then went on to win three of their four contests as the Captain D's Classic, sweeping the Chargers and splitting with Charleston.
North Georgia opened Peach Belt Conference play on Tuesday splitting a doubleheader with Flagler. The NFCA Division II top 25 poll is voted on by 16 NCAA Division II head coaches, two representing each of the eight NCAA regions.
