UC San Diego grabs another title

Tritons haul two more gold medals on final day

LONG BEACH, Calif. – UC San Diego captured its third conference championship in a row on Saturday afternoon at the Pacific Collegiate Swimming and Dive Conference Championships in Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool.

The Triton men tallied 1,548.5 points during the four days, beating second-place Cal Baptist’s total of 1,386.

Matt Herman and Nick Korth were the lone Triton men to take home first-place finishes on the day. Herman finished first in the 1650 free with a time of 15:44.80 while Korth won the 200 breast in 1:58.56. 

Blake Langland finished second in the 100 free with a time of 45.68, a NCAA D-II B qualifying time. UCSD also took second in the 400 free relay as Reid McCallum, Sam Stromberg, Alex Merrill and Langland touched in 3:02.11.

The UCSD men led the PCSC Championships from start to finish.
