Denison wins Kenyon relays
Big Red set four meet records in win, Kenyon finishes in second
GAMBIER, Ohio -- Denison set four meet records en route to a victory at the Kenyon Relays on Saturday afternoon in Gambier, Ohio.
The Big Red set meet records in the 200 backstroke relay (1:32.74), 500 crescendo relay (4:04.08), 1500 freestyle relay (14:07.21) and 400 individual medley relay (3:33.59). Junior Quinn Bartlett and sophomore Spencer Fronk were part of three of those four record breaking relay. The duo helped Denison win the 200 back, 500 crescendo and 400 IM relays.
Also posting multiple victories were Robert Barry, Mike Barczak, Al Weik and Carlos Maciel. Barry was part of the 200 back and 400 IM relays, while Barczak competed in the 200 back and breast relay events. Weik and Maciel were both part of the 1500 freestyle relay along with rookie Robert Lawley. Weik also participated in the 500 crescendo relay, while Maciel was the anchor leg in the 400 IM relay.
At the Denison diving relays, sophomore Gabe Dixson and rookie Connor Dignan occupied the top-two spots in the one-meter and three-meter diving events. Dixson took first in the three meter with 317.45 points and second in the one-meter event with 287.50 points. Dignan picked up a victory in the one-meter dive (311.55) and a second-place finish in the three-meter (311.95).
The Big Red totaled 124 points, while the host Lords took second with 106 points. Wooster (49), Allegheny (48), Wabash (45), Wittenberg (38), Ohio Wesleyan (28) rounded out the final five spots.
