RIVERSIDE, Calif. — Grand Canyon men and women were victorious on Saturday, defeating California Baptist. The No. 2 men won 156-124, while the No. 2 women cruised to a 176-108 victory.
The women captured 13-of-14 contested swimming events and were led by Hannah Peseau, Stacey Rudman and Rebecca Coan, who each had three wins.
Peseau swam on the winning 400 medley relay squad (1:46.33) and also captured the 200 free (1:58.11) and the 200 back (2:10.32) events. Rudman sprinted to the win in the 50 free (23.98) and was on the winning 200 free relay (1:36.04) and 200 medley relay teams. Coan won the tough 200 fly (2:07.41) and the 100 fly (56.41), while also swimming on the winning 200 free relay team.
The men also won 13-of-14 contested swimming events and were led by Brian Morrison’s four wins.
Morrison took the top spot in the 100 breast (57.92), 200 breast (2:05.21) and 400 IM (4:02.56). He also swam on the winning 200 medley relay team (1:33.46).
Michael Branning won the 50 free with a 20.39 and swam on the winning 200 medley relay and 200 free relay squads (1:24.42).
Tanner Brotherton also swam on the 200 free relay squad and took home wins in the 200 free (1:44.39) and 100 free (47.09).
