Quintero, Ishimatsu dominant in platform at UCLA Bruin Diving Invitational

Arizona freshman Rafael Quintero followed up his victories in the 1m and 3m diving competitions with a first-place finish in the platform dive to close out the Bruin Diving Invitational at the UCLA Spieker Aquatic Center on Sunday.

Quintero picked up his eighth first-place finish of the season after completely running away from the competition in the platform on Sunday. He scored 726.50 points with the next closest competitor, Collin Pollard from Cal, recording 621.25 in the finals.

On the women’s side, sophomore Haley Ishimatsu ran away with the women’s platform. Ishimatsu, who won the 3-meter on Friday, coasted to victory in the platform with 597.55 points. The next closest finisher was freshman teammate Sam Adams, who took second with 503.25 points.
