HOBOKEN, N.J. -- Stevens Institute of Technology jumped eight spots from No. 14 to No. 6 in the latest Collegiate Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Top 20 Poll, announced Thursday. Stevens upwards movement of eight spots was the largest jump in the poll.

Stevens (2-0) has come out of the gate strong in 2012-13. The Ducks opened with an exhibition meet at Division I Columbia before earning wins at Misericordia and NYU. The Ducks then rolled to the program's second Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) title in their first championship meet of the year, ousting 12 other institutions including several DI programs. Siena College placed second at the ECACs, 488 points behind Stevens.

Emory is the No. 1 team in the poll with Denison, Kenyon, Johns Hopkins and MIT rounding out the top five.

Stevens is the highest-ranked school in the state of New Jersey and the only Empire 8 program featured in the poll.

The Ducks will host fourth-ranked Hopkins on January 19 in their next competitive dual-meet of the season which is Stevens' final home meet.
