Cal Poly snags win against No. 3 UCSD in nonconference dual meet

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Cal Poly won its nonconference dual meet against No. 3 UC San Diego on Saturday at the Anderson Aquatic Center. After a full day of 32 events, the Mustang women’s team won 185-115.

In the 200 yard medley relay, Mustangs Allison de Peralta, Angie Haven, Rachel O’Brien and Jill Jones finished in first place (1:45.87).

Freshman de Peralta won the 100 yard backstroke (58.14) while senior Haven won the 100 yard breaststroke (1:05.37), the 200 yard breaststroke (2:18.19), and finished second in the women’s 200 yard IM (2:08.73).

Senior O’Brien placed first in the 200 yard butterfly (2:01.82) and won the 100 yard butterfly (55.97).

Other Mustang winners include junior Jones in the 100 yard freestyle (52.08), Katrina Anderson in the 200 yard backstroke (2:05.87) and Amanda Maffris in the 200 yard IM. Sami McIntyre won two diving events for the Mustangs in the 1-meter with 257.62 points and 3-meter with 277.65 points.
