NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Southern Connecticut State won its 10th consecutive Northeast-10 Conference Championship on Saturday.
Senior Amanda Thomas finished her record-breaking career a five-time Northeast-10 Champion. She finished Saturday with a first-place mark in the 200 yard Backstroke with a time of 2:00.58, which broke the previous Northeast-10 record set back in 2012.

Thomas was named the Northeast-10 Championship Most Outstanding Player as she took five first-place marks during the tournament, making it the fourth year in a row she has won the award.
Senior Meghan Fay finished a four-time Northeast-10 Champion after her performance during the competition. On Saturday, she captured first in the 1650 yard Freestyle, taking the event in 17:53.58. Freshman Amanda Joy also finished the event eighth (18:19.69).
Junior Anna Pleban finished with another first-place mark on Saturday in the 100 yard Freestyle. With that mark, she became a four-time Northeast-10 Champion as she took the event in 53.19. Freshman Christina Lavery took seventh in the event with a time of 55.52.
The 200 yard Butterfly featured three Owls in the top eight. Hannah Olson took third in 2:10.81, Courtney Silva took fourth in 2:12.63 and Christine Katrenya took sixth with a time of 2:15.00.
Silva also took home a fifth-place mark in the 200 yard Breaststroke with a time of 2:28.68, which was the top score for the Owls in the event.
Ashley Thomas was the top diver for the Owls on the three-meter board. Thomas finished with 365.50 points, good enough for third place. Jessica Renzo took home fifth place with 357.15 points.
The Owls finished Saturday with a second-place mark in the 400 Freestyle Relay. The group of Elizabeth Hess, Lavery, Pleban and Thomas finished the event in 3:35.95.
The Owls finished with 907 points, running away from second-place Bentley, which finished with 721. Assumption took third (666), Saint Rose fourth (425), Le Moyne fifth (353), Pace sixth (329), Adelphi seventh (238) and Saint Michael’s (172).
