SCRANTON, Pa. – Susquehanna clinched its third consecutive Landmark Conference championship title on Sunday, coasting to a 136.5-point margin of victory. The Crusaders finished with 803 points, easily beating out runner-up Scranton, which tallied 666.5 points.
Senior Devin Lessard was named Female Swimmer of the Year, while sister Kelsey Lessard was honored as the Female Rookie of the Year.
The day’s opening session, consisting solely of the 1,650 free, saw Aimee Ambrose win with a time of 19:30.90. She was followed by Loren Schott in second with her time of 19:34.96, a 16-second PR.
In Sunday’s evening session, Lexi Cole got things started with a first-place finish in the 200 backstroke (2:07.93 — a PR and pool record).
Kyle Seaman and Annie Bruxelles went three-four in the 100 free finals with respective times of 54.84 and 55.79. Bruxelles’s time marked a PR. Meanwhile, Kelsey Lessard placed third in the 200 breaststroke (2:27.19)
In the 200 butterfly prelims, Devin Lessard set a meet and Division II “B” cut time after touching the wall in 2:06.98. In the evening’s finals, she set another “B” cut mark with her first-place time of 2:05.19.
The women capped off the weekend by winning the 400 free relay with a meet-record time of 3:38.46 with swims from Bruxelles, Cole, Devin Lessard and Seaman.
