CLEVELAND, Miss. -- As the final day of the DSU Christmas Invitational came to a close, No. 22 Delta State picked up the overall victory. The highlight of the meet was the efforts of Anastasia Klyarovskaya, as she set six school records -- including an NCAA DII record in the 200 backstroke (1:56.44).

For the Lady Statesmen, the meet started off with Chloe Bennett finishing third overall in the 100 freestyle. Dani Meerholz (17:14.60) and Maria Torres (17:24.81) finished third and fourth in the 1650 freestyle, this being the first time the event has been contested this season for DSU.

Klyarovskaya picked up where she left off on Day 2, breaking the two-year-old mark in the 200 backstroke, with Kierstin Page (2:00.65) finishing runner-up. This is the first time that Delta State is able to lay claim to having an NCAA record holder with the time 2.23 seconds faster than the next fastest time this season.

Melanie Tombers set another school record in the meet, this time in the 200 breaststroke (2:16.95) with Meerholz (2:21.55) and Kirsten Stroven (2:25.46) rounding out the top five.
