ST. LOUIS - The Kalamazoo College men's tennis team defeated Luther (Iowa) College 5-1 in the second round of the NCAA III Central Regional on Saturday, May 15.  Kalamazoo advances to Sunday's 12 p.m. CT regional championship match against host Washington University in St. Louis. Against Luther, Kalamazoo lost at one doubles, but wins at two and three doubles gave Kalamazoo a 2-1 lead. Kalamazoo proceeded to win in straight sets at one, two and three singles to claim the victory. Kalamazoo had also won the first set at five and six singles before the match was halted. Kalamazoo (21-5) is ranked #20 in NCAA Division III and #4 in the Central Region. The Hornets face the Bears of Washington University (Mo.), currently ranked #7 in NCAA Division III and #1 in the region.
