ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla.-The #20 BYU-Hawaii men's tennis team swept past Kutztown by the score of 5-0 in the Round of 16 of the NCAA Division II Men's Tennis Championships. After taking the early 3-0 leading after the doubles competition, the Seasiders, picked up their final points at the fourth and fifth singles positions to advance them to the quarterfinal match tomorrow.

On the doubles courts, Jakub Huza and Jeff Rice notched BYU-Hawaii's first team point as they defeated Ilja Semjonovs and Lukas Beman by the score of 8-1 at the third spot. Finishing at the No. 2 position with an 8-2, Dorian Porada and Leon So'onalole took down Kutztown's Somdeep Appineni and Radoslaw Hlubinski for the 2-0 lead. Finishing off the doubles sweep, the ninth-ranked duo of Dillon Porter and Junyoung Kim battled out and 8-6 victory over Mukundan Nandakumar and Harsh Sharma.

Needing just two points to take the match, the Seasiders pushed one step closer with a win at No. 5 singles as Jakub Huza defeated Somdeep Appineni 6-3, 6-2. Leon So'onalole tallied BYU-Hawaii's deciding point as he was victorious over Ilja Semjonovs at the fourth spot by the score of 6-3, 6-1.

BYU-Hawaii will now tangle with #9 North Florida tomorrow morning at 10:00 in the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Championships at Sanlando Park.
