The Clippers headed to Flushing, New York today to face off in the first round of the NCAA East Regional Tournament as they went toe to toe with the Adelphi University Panthers.

The Clippers, entering their 14th time in the tournament, started their day off with the doubles side of the tournament. The pairing of Andreas Lindell and Tamas Dobrotka went straight to work as they were holding court from start to finish. With no drops of serve the pair defeated their opponents 8-0.

Felix Missal and Raphael Namias, playing at the number two spot, were head to head through four games. With a break of serve the pair went ahead and controlled the rest of the match as they gave the Clippers their second point of the match with a score of 8-2.

Alex Grubin and Andrey Boldarev, at the number one doubles position, surrendered just two games through the match. With three breaks of serve the pair notched another win with an 8-2 score.

As the Clippers were up 3-0, they looked to grab the next two points quickly.

Raphael Namias, at the number four singles position, as he won with out one game surrendered. With a dominate first set of 6-0 Namias moved on to the second set. Namias repeated his performance in the second set and the Clippers were one point away after the 6-0 second set victory.

Andreas Lindell continued at his fast pace play at the number six spot. Lindell let no game slip by him in the first set as he broke his opponents serve three times for the 6-0 win. Lindell's second set saw one game slip through his fingers but as soon as that game was done, Lindell stepped up and took care of the rest of the match as his 6-1 second set score clicked the fifth and final point for the Clippers to move on.

The Clippers will face the winner of the Philadelphia/Merrimack match tomorrow at 12:00pm.
