West Florida tops Alabama-Huntsville
Argos win all six singles matches, collect sixth consecutive win
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- No. 7 West Florida won its fourth match in four days as the Argos blanked Alabama-Huntsville 9-0 on Sunday. With the win, the Argos are now 8-1 overall and a perfect 4-0 in Gulf South Conference (GSC) play. West Florida has won its last six matches.
UWF swept doubles. At the No. 1 position, Kevin Ducros and Bruno Savi teamed to defeat Daniel Canellas and Raphael Oliveira, 8-3. Argonauts Leandro Ferreira and Andrey Pozhidaev recorded an 8-4 victory against Thales Castro and Chris Kano at No. 2. At the No. 3 line, the doubles duo of Mike Lue and Domenico Sano defeated Bruno Medeiros and Guillermo Reyes, 8-1.
West Florida also won all six singles matches. At the No. 1 position, Ducros defeated Canellas, 6-4, 6-4. No. 19-ranked Pozhidaev needed three sets but defeated Kano, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4, at No. 2.
