VALDOSTA, Ga — No. 2 West Florida improved to 5-0 for the first time since 2007 with a 7-2 victory against No. 13 Valdosta State on the road Thursday.
UWF took a 2-1 lead after doubles, with victories from partners Kevin Ducros and Bruno Savi at No. 1 doubles and Felipe Frattini and Elio Latela at No. 3.
The Argos went on to win the next five singles matches to clinch the win, before No. 13 Ducros fell to No. 11 Konstantin Kutschenk 6-3, 2-6, 6-2.
Ducros and Savi have won 10 of their last 11 matches as doubles partners, with their only loss during the span coming in the NCAA Finals against eventual national champion Armstrong. Savi extended his winning streak at singles to 22, and Latela extended his winning streak to 11, both dating back to last season.
