TYLER, Texas -- Senior Ryan Ybarra and junior Daniel Brown finished up a busy day at the 2013 NCAA DIII Tennis Championships with a win in doubles action in three sets. Ybarra and Brown started the day playing in singles matchups, with Ybarra winning the opener before falling in the Round of 16.

Ybarra and Brown continued their day with an opening doubles match against 2013 NCAA team champion Williams' Trey Meyer and Alex Schidlovsky.

After taking the first set 6-3, the Patriots' duo fell 6-3 to the No. 4-seeded team. The team held strong in the third and final set, winning 6-2 to take the match.

The team will play in the NCAA quarterfinals on Friday against Emory's Elliot Kahler and Ian Wagner.

Ybarra began the day with a gutsy win against Mary Washington's Tyler Carey in Round of 32 individual play. After dropping the first set 6-4, Ybarra roared back with a 6-3 win in set two and a dominating 6-1 win in the final third set.

He had little time to recover, with his Round of 16 match against Kenyon's Michael Razumovsky beginning just a couple hours after the first match. Razumovsky took the first set 6-0, before Ybarra won 6-2 in the second set.  Ybarra hung tough in the third set, eventually falling 7-5.

Brown began the day in a tough matchup with Bates' Rob Crampton in a close match that was a nail-biter throughout. He dropped the close first set 7-6, before fighting back to win 7-5 in the second. Brown and Crampton played another close set in the third, with Crampton prevailing 6-4.
