Armstrong Atlantic State

CLEMSON, S.C. -- Armstrong Atlantic State swept all four singles matches, but dropped all three doubles matches at the second day of the Clemson Winter Classic on Saturday at the Clemson Indoor Tennis Center.

The Pirates faced Georgia State in singles action and picked up straight set wins in all four matches. Barbora Krtickova collected a 6-2, 6-3 win against Tereza Lerova of the Panthers in Flight 1, while Aleksandra Filipovski defeated Katerina Gresova 6-4, 6-0, in Flight 2. Joanna Szymcyk notched a 6-3, 6-0 win against Maryna Kozachenko in Flight 3 and Kathleen Henry notched a 6-1, 6-1 win over Othilla Lindqvist in Flight 4.

Doubles play was rough for the Pirates against the host Tigers as the second-ranked team in Division I, Josipa Bek and Keri Wong, bested the No. 1-ranked Division II team of Barbora Krtickova and Alida Muller-Wehlau 9-7.

Nelly Ciolkowski and Caroline Magnusson defeated Filipovski and Tina Ronel 8-2 at the Flight 2 doubles and Masha Belaya and Klara Vyskocilova beat Szymcyk and Jessa Gardefjord 8-1 at Flight 3.
