AUGUSTA, Ga. - Top-ranked and top-seeded Armstrong Atlantic blanked fourth-seeded and 12th-ranked Clayton State, 5-0, on Saturday to advance to the championship match of the 2011 Peach Belt Conference Tennis Championships at the Newman Tennis Center in Augusta, Ga. Armstrong has won the last seven PBC Tournament titles dating back to 2004.

Armstrong took a quick 3-0 lead after doubles play as No. 3-ranked Alida Muller-Wehlau and Barbora Krtickova defeated No. 10-ranked Ivana Krommelova and Viktoriya Semyrodenko, 8-2, at No. 1 doubles. No. 14-ranked Kathleen Henry and Tina Ronel bested No. 18-ranked Marie Cercelletti and Katie White, 8-4, at No. 2 doubles while Jessica Gardefjord and Aleksandra Filipovski knocked off Jessica Budd and Martina Dedaj, 8-1, at No. 3 doubles.

The Lady Pirates then claimed a pair of straight-set singles wins to clinch the match and the berth into the finals. No. 11-ranked Krtickova beat No. 24-ranked White, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 2 singles and No. 40-ranked Szymczyk beat Charlotte Fabricius, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 6 singles.
