ATLAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla.-The #6 Lynn University women's tennis team resumed play today at Sanlando Park after its opening round match in the NCAA Division II National Championships was suspended last night due to rain. The Fighting Knights (23-4) swept #7 Abilene Christian by the score of 5-0, advancing to the quarterfinals later this afternoon.

Keeping their streak alive, junior Dragana Ilic and freshman Victoria Weltz, the ninth-ranked pair in the country, pushed past Rachel Taylor and Lauren Yarbrough at the second position, improving to 22-0 as a duo this season. At the top spot for the Knights seniors Masha Bayser and Andrea Kostricova, ranked fifth in the nation, put together an 8-5 win over Lana Pavlin and Holly Lindloff. Battling out a tie-break at the third position, juniors Marie Maussion and Dina Bajramovic downed Summer Beesley and Meagan Brown by the score of 9-8 (11-9) at the third spot, finishing the doubles sweep.

Hitting the singles courts, Ilic once again led the way at the fifth position with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Lindloff. Ilic, the 33rd-ranked singles player in the nation, pushed her record to 25-0 this season. Clinching the victory for Lynn, 24th-ranked Weltz put together 6-1, 6-2 win against Pavlin at the second spot.

The Knights will get back on the courts at 4 p.m. today as they will tussle with the Blazers for a chance to head to the NCAA semifinals.
