ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. (May 13) - The No. 2-ranked AASU women's tennis squad blanked No. 3-ranked Valdosta State, 5-0, on Friday afternoon to earn the program's seventh berth in the NCAA DII Women's Tennis Championship final. AASU will meet top-ranked BYU-Hawaii on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. to decide the National Championship.

AASU swept all three doubles points against the Blazers, then got straight set wins from Dziyana Nazaruk at No. 2 singles, 6-3, 6-1 over Anne Corten, and Laura Peaty at No. 6 singles, 6-1, 6-3 over Clair McKinnon, to clinch the match and improve to 29-0 on the season.

This is the first time AASU has advanced to the final since 2002 and the Lady Pirates have captured the school's only two team NCAA National Championships, in 1995 and 1996.
