GREENSBORO, N.C. – A pair of Atlantic Coast Conference tennis players have been recognized as Players of the Week for the second time in the young season, as Virginia’s Dominic Inglot earned this week’s men’s honor and Clemson Ani Mijacika is the recipient on the women’s side.

Inglot, a senior from London, England, led the fifth-ranked Cavaliers to a pair of wins this week against No. 31 Kentucky, 6-1, and No. 74 Maryland, 7-0 in their ACC opener. The win over Maryland extended Virginia’s ACC winning streak to 32 consecutive matches (regular season and tournaments).

Against Kentucky, Inglot rallied from down a set and a break to defeat No. 4 Bruno Agostinelli at No. 1 singles for his fifth consecutive win over a top-25 opponent. He added a straight-set win over Maryland’s David Kwon on Sunday. In doubles, Inglot and Michael Shabaz won twice, including an 8-4 win over No. 37 Andy Orban and Boris Fetbroyt of Maryland. Inglot, who was also named ACC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week on Jan. 27, is 7-0 this season at No. 1 singles and 8-0 in doubles with Shabaz.

Clemson’s Mijacika remained undefeated in dual matches by knocking off a pair of top-10 ranked opponents and has now posted three straight wins over top-10 opponents in singles action. She improved to 18-3 overall with 11 wins over ranked players. She also won both of her doubles matches and now owns an 11-4 individual doubles record.

Mijacika’s 6-4, 6-2 win over ninth-ranked Laura Gioia of Furman in No. 1 singles helped key the Tigers to a 7-0 win. She then outlasted Georgia’s seventh-ranked Chelsey Gullickson 6-2, 5-7, 6-1 in Clemson’s tough 4-3 loss to the nationally sixth-ranked Bulldogs.

Mijacika, who claimed her second straight ACC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week honor,  partnered with Keri Wong to knock off Georgia’s 10th-ranked duo and help the Tigers claim the doubles point on Saturday.
