STANFORD, Calif. - No. 13 Stanford looked dominant in a 4-0 shutout of No. 25 LSU on Sunday afternoon at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium, punching its ticket to College Station, Texas - the site of next weekend's NCAA Championships round of 16.
Stanford will square off against No. 4 Baylor on Friday, May 15. The Lady Bears defeated the Cardinal 4-1 in last year's quarterfinal round, representing Stanford's earliest exit in the postseason since 1998.
Playing in its 28th consecutive NCAA Tournament, Stanford improved to 19-4 overall. LSU wraps up its season at 14-11 overall.
Stanford has now won 151 consecutive matches at home - a streak that spans 10 seasons and is recognized as the longest active such streak among all sports in Division I athletics.
After quickly claiming the doubles point, Lindsay Burdette and Jessica Nguyen notched wins before Veronica Li provided the clincher on court four.
