CLAREMONT, Calif. - The University of Texas at Tyler was eliminated from the 2010 NCAA Women's Tennis Championships with a 5-2 second round loss to Pomona-Pitzer at the Claremont, Calif. Regional on Friday.

UT Tyler (17-4) earned its only two points from a win by Emily McRae and Sydni Hermsdorf at No. 2 doubles and a No. 5 singles win from Lauren Giovannini.

Pomona-Pitzer, ranked No. 7 in the country, advances to the Round of 16 and improved to 17-3 on the season.

The Patriots earned a spot in the NCAA Championships with their third-straight American Southwest Conference title. UT Tyler beat Whitworth in the first round to advance to Friday's match.
