CLEMSON, S.C. – No. 3 Armstrong Atlantic State wrapped up action at the Clemson Winter Classic on Sunday, winning two singles and doubles matches on the final day.
The Pirates faced Clemson in six singles matches, with Barbora Krtickova picking up a 6-4, 7-5 win against Beatrice Gumulya in Flight 1 action. Armstrong’s other singles winner was Olga Kalodzitsa, who beat Nelly Ciolkowski, 6-3, 6-2, in Flight 4 action.
Clemson’s Keri Wong defeated the Pirates’ Aleksandra Filipovski, 6-3, 6-2, in Flight 2 singles while Klara Vyskocilova beat Kathleen Henry, 6-1, 6-3, in Flight 3 singles. Monika Kochanova beat Marlen Hacke, 7-6 (2), 6-4, in Flight 5 singles and Romy Koelzer beat Clara Perez, 6-4, 2-6, 10-7 in Flight 6 singles.
In doubles action, Filipovski and Krtickova beat Grymel and Dorfeeva of Troy, 8-3, in Flight 1 action while Hacke and Kalodzitsa teamed to beat El Hsissen and Giron, 8-4, in Flight 2 action. Troy’s duo of Dhaouli and Vega beat Henry and Perez, 8-6, in Flight 3 action.
Based on the records of the weekend action, Kalodzitsa was determined the Flight 4 winner for the weekend, while Jessica Gardefjord was the Flight 7 winner.
