No. 9 Rollins tops Tampa for first win

TAMPA, Fla. — Winning two points in doubles and using strong singles play, ninth-ranked Rollins earned its first victory of the young season, beating Tampa 6-3 on Tuesday afternoon.

Elissa DeCampli and Callie Whitlock teamed to defeat Leslie Raymond and Megan Mancini 8-4 in the No. 2 doubles match while Ashley Rosenberg and Mariana Salvador took Thashia Garcia and Briana Ryan 8-5 at No. 3.

Rosenberg added a win in the No. 2 singles match, downing Lauren Hewett 6-4, 6-1. Salvador came back to beat Meg Wladimirski 1-6, 6-4, 10-8 at No. 3 while Sara Stosljevic downed Raymond 6-4, 6-1 in the No. 4 match. DeCampli cruised to an easy win at No. 5, defeating Mancini 6-0, 6-1.
