DURHAM, N.C. — No. 3 Duke moved within one win of the Atlantic Coast Conference-regular season title on Saturday afternoon, defeating Boston College, 7-0.

The afternoon kicked off with a strong doubles performance by the Blue Devils, as Hanna Mar and Monica Gorny were the first ones off the court following their 8-2 victory against Ina Kauppila and Sarah Dalton in the No. 3 spot.

Less than a minute later, the 28th-ranked team of Rachel Kahan and Beatrice Capra finished off Katarina Gajic and Olga Khmylev 8-3 in the No. 2 spot to clinch the doubles point for Duke.

In the No. 1 doubles match, the 27th-ranked duo of Mary Clayton and Ester Goldfeld rallied back from an early 4-3 deficit to take down the Eagles’ 83rd-ranked tandem of Erina Kukuchi and Jessica Wacnik, 8-4 and complete the doubles sweep.

Singles play kicked off with a Duke victory in No. 3 singles as Clayton, ranked No. 71, picked up her team-leading 29th win of the season in a 6-1, 6-3 defeat of Gajic. Annie Mulholland downed Kaupilla, 6-1, 6-3 in the No. 6 spot before 102nd-ranked Monica Turewicz followed up with a 6-4, 6-1 victory against Kelly Barry in the No. 5 spot to clinch the overall match.

Goldfeld, ranked 91st in the country, fought off a pesky Wacnik in the No. 2 singles match, scoring a 6-3, 6-3 win — her 23rd of the season. No. 2-ranked Capra outlasted the 110th-ranked Kikuchi, 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 1 spot, while Mar, ranked No. 51, battled through two break points in the second set to take down Olga Khmylev, 6-1, 7-5, to complete the shutout.
