SAINT LEO, Fla. -- No. 12 Saint Leo remained unblemished in Sunshine State Conference play as the Lions downed No. 18 Florida Tech 7-2 in action at the Saint Leo Tennis Center on Monday.

Just 24 hours after its first win against No. 4 Lynn, handing the Fighting Knights only their fourth conference loss in 15 years, the Lions (5-1, 2-0 SSC) kept the hot streak going, only seeing losses at No. 1 doubles and singles.

Florida Tech junior Kristina Huba and senior Stephanie Dohner won the top doubles match 9-8 against Laura Kemkes and Emily Singleton. The duo won the tiebreaker by a score of 10-8 to claim Florida Tech’s (3-3, 2-3 SSC) only doubles match.

Saint Leo (5-1, 2-0 SSC) won the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches by scores of 8-3 and 8-2. The Lions won the other five singles matches to earn the 7-2 match win.

Pauline Helgesson, Laura Kemkes, Maria Benkirane, Emily Singleton and Adrianna Daszkiewicz all picked up wins at singles to help the Lions claim the Sunshine State Conference win against the Panthers (3-3, 2-3 SSC).
