GREENCASTLE, Ind. – Fifth-ranked Chicago opened with a 6-3 win against Oberlin on Saturday and finished the day with a dramatic 5-4 win against eighth-ranked DePauw.

The Maroons improved to 5-3, while the Tigers dropped to 6-2 and the Yeowomen fell to 5-4.

Megan Tang and Maggie Schumann were the top performers on the day as both went 2-0 in singles and 1-1 as doubles partners.

“We got a nice win to start the day off against a scrappy Oberlin team,” head coach Jay Tee said. “Then we picked it up a notch to get the win against a highly-ranked DePauw squad. It was a true team effort all the way through the lineup. The woman of the match was Sruthi Ramaswami. She pulled out a 6-3 win in the third set in the last match of the night to get us a huge win.”
