No. 13 Stanford dominates 21st-ranked Arizona State 6-1 on road
TEMPE, Ariz. -- No. 13 Stanford completed a sweep of its road trip through the desert, defeating No. 21 Arizona State 6-1 on Saturday afternoon.
Stanford, which blanked Arizona 7-0 on Friday, will head into next weekend's regular-season finale at California with a chance to claim a share of the conference title.
The Cardinal (16-3, 8-1 Pac-12) has won five in a row and 12 of its last 13 overall.
The Sun Devils (15-5, 5-4 Pac-12) have dropped four consecutive contests following a 12-match winning streak.
Stanford booked 8-3 victories at the top-two spots of the lineup en route to claiming the doubles point.
The Cardinal then clinched the match with three quick singles victories.
Ellen Tsay made it 2-0 following a 6-1, 6-1 victory at the No. 5 spot. Kristie Ahn was just as dominant, breezing past Desirae Krawczyk 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 2 position for a 3-0 lead.
Krista Hardebeck then made the result official with a 6-4, 7-6 (2) triumph on court three.
