BLACKSBURG, Va. -- Two of Florida State's indoor track athletes came away with wins Saturday and the Seminoles capped off their second trip to Virginia Tech's campus in as many weekends.
At day No. 2 of the Hokie Invite in Blacksburg, Va., Maurice Mitchell captured the win in the 200-meter dash on a time of 20.97 while Kemar Hyman finished third (21.42).
Mitchell's stellar mark is good enough for the third-fastest time in the entire nation.
Brian Chibudu earned the nationally-ranked 'Noles' other victory as he lept 24'9" in the men's triple jump in what was his first competitive action of the year.
On the women's side, Danielle Williams was third in the high jump with a mark of 5'6.5".
Callie Giffin then came in ninth with a mark of 12'2.5" in the seeded pole vault. That particular event was won by former Seminole athlete and current FSU volunteer assist coach Lacy Janson.
