Wis.-Platteville breaks school record

The UW-Platteville 4×200 relay team broke a school record that had stood for a decade during the Drake Relays Friday in Des Moines, Iowa.

Cody Egan (Sr., Davis, Ill./Durand), Matt Bischoff (Sr., Slinger), Casey Goffinet (Fr., Platteville), and Lynn Oyawiri (So., Platteville) covered the 800 meters in 1:28.63. The Pioneers were second in their heat and 11th overall. They broke the 1990 school mark of 1:30.94.

Also Friday, Egan, Goffinet, Oyawiri, and Jordan Olp (Fr., Reedsville) ran the 4×100 relay in 42.57, just missing qualifying for finals. UWP was fifth in its heat and 12th of 26 teams in the preliminary round.

The Pioneers compete at UW-Whitewater Saturday.
