Lincoln (Mo.) reassumes No. 1 spot in poll; Grand Canyon drops to No. 2
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Lincoln (Mo.) is once again the No. 1 team in the country, according to the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division II Poll released Tuesday.
After spending last week at No. 2, the Blue Tigers are once again the top team after earning 229.96 points. Lincoln overtook Grand Canyon, which dropped down to No. 2 with 215.69 points, while the Academy of Art received 210.26 points to check in at a close third. Defending national champion Grand Valley State is currently fourth after earning 208.57 points, while Adams State garnered 163.59 to round out the top five.
With three ranked teams, the MIAA was once again the highest point-earning league in the rankings, with its programs combining to earn 474.99 points. Central Missouri and Pittsburg State are the other ranked league programs, with UCM checking in at No. 14 (62.01 points) and PSU rated No. 21 (52.03 points).
