BOSTON -- Eric Doherty put down 11 kills to lead No. 14 Emmanuel past Emerson 25-18, 25-21, 25-17 sweep on Tuesday night. The Lions drop to 3-5 and 0-2 in the GNAC while the Saints move to 4-2 on the year and a perfect 4-0 in the conference.

The first set saw the Saints come out with some brute force on offense as they swung a nasty .550 to open the match. GNAC Rookie of the Week, Ashanti Jackson proved why he earned the award as he floored seven kills while swinging .700 in the set while Eric Doherty tried to match the pace with six of his own and a .500 attack percentage. The effort wasn't enough by the Lions though as they managed to tie the score up, but Emmanuel took the win 25-18.

The second time around Emerson stepped up the D more, but the Lions matched the pace, this time with a few blocks to their tally. The Lions spread the offense more, this time swinging .200 in the set but Emmanuel's .323 with Zach Whitemore's five kills led the assault as the Lions dug a quick 0-2 hole with a 25-21 loss.

Three was all it'd be for the night as the Saints came marching in for another solid offensive outing, plastering a .444 team attack percentage in the last set combined with three more blocks in their favor. The Lions struggled to contain the attack as they couldn't seem to get their offense in gear with only Eric Doherty and Conor Burton putting up two kills apiece to lead Emerson as they fell 25-17 to end it.
