No. 2 Springfield cruises by Endicott

O’Leary records 11 kills in leading Pride to sweep of Gulls

BEVERLY, Mass. — Jimmy O’Leary pounded out 11 kills, while hitting at a .733 clip for the evening, to lead visiting Springfield to a three-game sweep of Endicott on Thursday evening. The second-ranked Pride cruised to victory by set scores of 25-15, 25-18, 25-18.

The Pride improved to 17-5 on the campaign with the victory while the Gulls fall to 9-7 overall with the loss.

Led by O’Leary’s masterful performance, Springfield finished the evening hitting .455 as a team. Fellow middle hitter Greg Falcone connected for kills on all six of his swings, while Mike Pelletier added seven kills of his own. Nick Ferry had a match-high eight digs and Keaton Pieper totaled 29 assists and five digs to help lead the Pride to the easy victory.

Thomas Stoeckinger paced Endicott by recording 11 kills on the evening. Jeremy Siden added nine, while Travis Netheron and Kevin Duggan contributed three kills apiece. Jeremy Schlosser dished out 18 assists and Carter Roche piled up nine of his own for the Gulls. Schlosser also led Endicott with six digs and recorded the only ace of the night for his squad.
