Hansen top performer, 20 kills, 18 digs, three total blocks
KENOSHA, Wis. -- No. 4 Juniata closed out play at the 2012 Wisconsin Invitational with a 3-1 loss to No. 3 Carthage, 3-1 on Sunday afternoon.
Set scores for the Red Men were 25-18, 25-27, 25-20, 25-22.
Joe Bortak paced the Eagles (19-7) with 13 kills on 23 swings with a .522 attack percentage, and recorded four total blocks to finish with 15.0 points.
Ben Wolff totaled 15.5 points, logging 12 kills on 26 swings for a .423 hitting percentage and combining that with four total blocks and a service ace.
Ross Madden led the pin hitters with nine kills on 27 swings with four attack errors, while Paul Kuhn finished with eight terminations.
Juniata hit .243 for the match while Carthage hit .301. John Almquist guided the Eagle offense at setter, recording 45 assists to go with 11 digs.
Mike Kraft totaled a team-high 14 digs for the Eagles.
Carthage was led by Randy Hansen's 20 kills on a .486 hitting percentage, a match-high 18 digs and three total blocks. Pat Barry tallied 18 kills while hitting .200 for the match.
