Some players are finishing their college careers, while a few have hit an early stride to make their way onto our list of three players to watch during the 2013 season.
Senior Mike Pelletier helped lead Springfield to the national championship last season, posting 34 kills at a .369 clip to go along with 10 digs, nine blocks, and two aces in three matches during the tournament. In the national title three-set win against Carthage, Pelletier powered the Pride with 10 kills and seven digs.
As a sophomore in 2012, Connor Wexter earned first-team All-American honors after earning a .252 attack percentage, 11.20 assists per set, 1.39 digs per set and 0.60 blocks per set. Wexter collected a career-high 64 assists against Nazareth in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III Men’s Volleyball Championship.
Last season, Edner Geffard had one of the best seasons of any York (N.Y.) volleyball player ever. Geffard finished the season ranked seventh in kills per set (3.77), 16th in aces per set (.44) and 27th in hitting percentage (.311) in Division III. Among CUNYAC athletes, he was first in kills, third in blocks (.65), fifth in hitting percentage and sixth in aces.
