ST. PAUL, Minn. -
The 11th-ranked St. Olaf volleyball team swept Whitworth University -- 25-17, 25-17, 25-11 -- in the second round of the NCAA Division III Championship to advance to the round of 16.

Melissa Burch hit .522 with a match-best 14 kills to lead the Oles, who had 12 kills from Kim Smisek.

Whitworth was led by Amanda Grumbach's nine kills.

The Oles (31-4) will play in the regional title game tomorrow, against host St. Thomas, at 4 p.m. St. Olaf won each of two matches the teams played earlier this season, including a three-set sweep in the MIAC playoffs final last week.
