STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) -Penn State swept Northwestern in three sets Friday night to extend its home-match winning streak to 90, tying an NCAA women's volleyball record.

Senior Blair Brown led the Nittany Lions with 16 kills on a night when the school honored a senior class that has won the last three NCAA championships.

Penn State had an overall 109-match winning streak snapped earlier this season after losing to Stanford in September in a tournament in Florida. It was the second-longest streak in Division I team sports, behind only the 137 consecutive wins by the Miami men's tennis program from 1957-64.

But the home winning streak is still intact after the 25-20, 25-19, 25-20 win over the Wildcats allowed Penn State to tie Nebraska for the record.
