COLCHESTER, Vt. -- Andy Mink, a veteran volleyball coach and athlete in Upstate New York, has been named head coach of Saint Michael's, director of athletics Geri Knortz announced. Mink replaces Chris Kilmer, who posted 32 wins in three years as head coach after serving the previous three falls as an assistant coach with the Purple Knights. He returns to his alma mater, Plymouth State, to take the helm.

"Working as the head coach of a varsity program will give me an opportunity to fully implement all of the skills, traits, and experiences that make up my vast career in volleyball," said Mink, who enters his first season as a varsity head coach, but provides a wealth of college club experience. "I hope to bring energy, effort, and enthusiasm to my brand new program."

Mink was a women's assistant coach in 2010 at Division III SUNY Plattsburgh and is also the owner, director and a coach of the New York-based Northern Impact Volleyball Club. He previously guided the Siena College men's volleyball club team during the 2009-10 school year after serving as the head coach of both the men's and women's club teams at the State University of New York at Oswego between 2007 and 2009. During that time, Mink was also president of the men's club team while playing for the squad.

"Andy comes to us with more than 10 years of volleyball experience through playing, coaching, and officiating at all different levels," said Knortz. "In addition, he has completed the national accreditation courses for volleyball, a testament to his knowledge and commitment to the sport. We are pleased to welcome him to our staff."
