ATLANTA, Ga. -- Georgias first trip to the NCAA Volleyyball Tournament in nine years ended in a 3-0 loss to rival Georgia Tech on Friday night at the OKeefe Gymnasium.

The Yellow Jackets (26-6) jumped on the Bulldogs (18-12) early with back-to-back 30-21 wins in games one and two. In game three Georgia led 29-28 but could not pull away as Georgia Tech scored the final three points for the 31-29 win.

Julia Petruschke was Georgias only player with double digits in kills with 15 and Alexandra Oquendo was held to nine kills. The Bulldogs combined for a .165 hitting percentage while the Yellow Jackets finished with a 53-33 lead in digs.

Martina Wagner did have a match-high 14 digs for the Bulldogs.

Margot Wallace had 32 assists in her final match as a Bulldog, ending her career sixth on the SECs all-time list with 5,166.

Wallace and Jennie Metz end their careers with a 67-54 overall record in leading Georgia to its first NCAA Tournament berth since 1995.

Lauren Sauer and Lynnette Moster had 15 and 14 kills, respectively, for Georgia Tech.
