Key Notes: The 5-foot-10 McCall was named the MVP of the Partin Classic last weekend after helping the Eagles to a 4-0 record that included a pair of victories against top-20 teams.  She played in all 13 of the team's sets and topped the squad with 72 kills (5.54 kps) while registering a .395 attack percentage (72 k, 12 e, 152 ta). Through eight matches, she is averaging a team-high 4.15 kills per set and is third on the squad with a 3.31 digs per set average.

• Top-ranked Calvin, third-ranked Wittenberg, No. 11 Heidelberg and No. 13 Hope will all battle this weekend in the Wittenberg Great Lakes Regional Challenge. Matches will be going across two courts beginning at 3:30 p.m. ET on Friday afternoon and going through Saturday.

• Southwestern (Texas) is charging up the rankings. After a 7-0 start, the Pirates moved from No. 17 in the preseason rankings to No. 10 in the most recent rankings released Tuesday. This weekend, Southwestern is in the Trinity National Invitational, where it will face, among others, No. 8 Carthage.
