HOLLAND, Mich. -- Top-ranked Calvin extended its undefeated season with a quick, three-set sweep against Hope (26-24, 25-20, 25-16).

Lizzie Kamp led the Knights with 13 kills, Rebecca Kamp added 10 and Erin VanderPlas had eight in the win which lasted one hour and 12 minutes. Megan Rietema dished out 32 assists among six different attackers, effectively keeping the Hope defense on its heels. For Rebecca Kamp, the match was an opportunity for the Knights to prove their capabilities against their rival, something they failed to do on more than one occasion last season.

“We finally did what we knew what we could do and played the way we know we can play,” she said.

With the win, Calvin improved its record to 15-0 and 7-0 in conference. The loss dropped Hope to 12-2 overall and 5-1 in the MIAA.

DELAWARE, Ohio -- Wittenberg improved to 13-1 overall and 5-0  in North Coast Athletic Conference action with a sweep of Ohio Wesleyan Wednesday night at Branch Rickey Arena.

Behind set scores of 25-8, 25-12 and 25-14, the Tigers racked up a team hitting percentage of .404, while holding the Battling Bishops to 15 kills against 18 errors. The match lasted just one hour and 11 minutes.

Leading the Wittenberg offense was freshman setter Courtney Lauber, who set both a Tiger season-best and a personal, collegiate-best with 32 assists in the match.

Lauber dished double-digit assists to two Tiger hitters, freshman Ali Hock-James and sophomore Andrea Behling. Hock-James led the team with 11 kills while Behling hit for 10 kills on an attack percentage of .533.
