Key Notes: The Bears did not play last week, but on Sept. 17, Budde notched the 1,000th kill of her career in a 3-0 victory against then-No. 15 Concordia College-Moorhead. So far this season Budde has a team-high 151 kills, an average of 3.6 per set while hitting .419. She is also tied for the team lead with 37 total blocks and ranks third with 127 digs, a rate of 3.02 per set.

DIVISION III

• No. 2 Washington-St. Louis will host the the first University Athletic Association (UAA) round robin of the year at the Washington University Field House. All eight conference teams will be in action, including fourth-ranked Emory and No. 16 Chicago.

• Washington-St. Louis has swept 14 opponents to begin the 2011 season, the longest such streak to start a year in program history.

• Surprisingly, top-ranked Calvin has the weekend off. The Knights extended their undefeated season with a three-set sweep against 13th-ranked Hope on Wednesday.
